SINGING FOR WELL-BEING…AND PERFORMING IS OPTIONAL FOR OUR MEMBERS

What an amazing night of support, connectiveness and FUN at the adult choir night at the 2023 Wagga Wagga Eisteddfod on Friday 8 September!
It was also wonderful to listen to the other local choirs perform.
UNISONg is only just over two years old (so many members joined this year!) and our Director, Lyn has been with us a little over 12 months. Performing is optional for choir members. There is no pressure to sing publically but members often find singing in a supportive group helps to take away much of the nervousness that can occur when singing in front of an audience. Some members show support by being part of the audience and that is fabulous.

The main focus on singing at the Eisteddfod was fun and support - of each other, the other choirs and for the Musical Eisteddfod volunteers. UNISONg really demonstrated how fun and inclusive group singing can be. A bonus were the results and comments from the adjudicator.
Two highly commendeds - acapella section and Australian composer/arranger - to start the night…
The adjudicator wrote in her report:
"You sang this with sincerity and meaning" - Sunrise Sunset
"Parts well established. This was fine work" - The Madwriggle

There was so much joy in the two contrasting songs we sang for the Adult Choir Championship at the Wagga Eisteddfod on 8 September and this helped us to achieve 3rd place! 😱
The adjudicator wrote:
“Your articulation is fabulous. The joy you exude is palpable" - Swing Song
"You capture the driving rhythm and energy so well - I wanted to dance" - I've Got the Music in Me
UNISONg is all about group singing bringing joy and connection so we nailed that last night!
Anyone who was singing on stage for the first time was so well supported by the other members - thank you for being there for each other when any little nerves or doubts started to surface. 🥰
As our wonderful and proud choir Director, Lyn, said in her email to members, “Thank you to those who couldn't be there but sent us good vibes - we felt them!”
